ABOUT US
Why Offline exists.
We use software every day. Too often, doing something simple means finding a way around its limitations.
Offline by name.
Always on for ideas.
It starts with something that gets in the way.
An app that hides the very command you need. Five steps for a task that should take seconds. An essential feature locked behind a payment. We know these problems because we run into them ourselves.
That is where Offline began: wanting tools that work the way we need them to. Instead of keeping on working around the problems, we started building the apps we were missing.
OUR GOAL
Software everyone can use. For free.
We want good software to be within everyone’s reach. Whether you are planning a journey, studying or keeping a food diary, the price should not stop you from using the tool you need.
Accessible also means understandable: clear controls, fewer steps and no manual to study before you can get started.
How we work
We start with what we use.
We choose problems we know first-hand. If something slows us down every day, we have a good reason to try to fix it.
We use the apps in everyday life.
A tidy screen is not enough. You need to find your journey, save your notes and log your meal without wasting time.
We fix what does not work.
A first version always needs some work. When a step is awkward or a bug keeps coming back, we go back and address it.
OUR DESIGN
An interface that feels familiar.
We design our apps around established systems such as Google’s Material Design 3. They guide our choices for recognisable controls, readable text and consistent navigation from one screen to the next.
The aim is simple: open an app and know where to go, without having to learn everything from scratch.
